Give the bottle one job before you open the sale

Read the notes in three layers
Every proper perfume listing shows three layers of notes. Each one tells you something different:
- Top notes are the first impression, the part you smell right after spraying. They are bright and fade first.
- Heart notes come through once the top settles. This is the main character of the scent.
- Base notes are what stays on your skin and clothes for the rest of the day. This is what people remember.

Check how long it lasts before you check the price
A cheap perfume that is gone by lunch costs you more, because you buy again. Three things on a listing tell you most of what you need:
- Concentration. An Eau de Parfum (EDP) usually lasts longer than an Eau de Toilette (EDT).
- Oil percentage. Sellers who are proud of it say it clearly. If it is missing, ask why.
- Bottle size. Compare 50 ML with 50 ML. A small bottle at a "low" price can cost more per spray.
